HERITAGE STAY –A REAL LIFE EXPERIENCE THROUGH THE CULTURE, TRADITION AND HERITAGE:

The stay at home stays would give you an insight to the true spirit of Kerala’s rich tradition ,cultural practices and different art forms. There one could experience the real life style of virgin Kerala villages. The home stays we provide are located in off – the track destinations, far away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Some suggested Home stays are:

Olappamanna Mana-,Palakkad (about 100kms from Cochin) : One of the centuries old Mana ( the name given to Kerala Brahmin houses). It has a glittering cultural heritage in the field of Kathakali (classical dance form) , Carnatic Music, Melam and Thayampaka (classical percussions) , Literature and Rig Veda. This heritage home is built in a large, eco- friendly peaceful surroundings. There are certain restrictions imposed here to preserve the sanctity of the Family Deity. Foot wares are not permitted inside the Main Building. Smoking is prohibited is in the Main Building. Non-vegetarian foodstuff and alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited in the whole Mana premises.
The following Dance forms can be availed on extra cost at prior request.
Kalam Ezhithi Pattu - a rare unique ritual.
Melam - a classical performance on Drums.
Kathakali - a classical art form in its original stage.
Thira - a folk art only found in South Malabar
Kathakali Orientation courses for one to two weeks are available on request

Thulasidalam Cultural Home Stay (135 kms from Cochin): It is located in the serene village,Thelliyoor, a typical Kerala village where Hindu life style presents itself in a myriad of traditions. Its an ideal place to experience ancient art forms and learn about Jyothishastra(Astrology), Vasthushastra ( ancient architecture) and Ayurveda. Activities of Samskarika Kala Kendra, Ayurvedic therapies and Yoga practice are the added attractions of this stay.

Ayesha Manzil, Tellicherri is a beautiful, old colonial style mansion overlooking the blue Arabian sea. This bungalow was built in 1862. Ayesha Manzil is famous for its special Cuisine prepared with a touch of Malabar-Traditional Muslim specialties with emphasis being given on fresh seafood.

FORT HERITAGE, Fort Cochin: This is a Heritage Hotel ,carrying the legacy of Dutch Palace of 17 th century. NILAYORAM :Sets in 2 acres of idyllic, peaceful, sylvan surroundings and scenic beauty of the river, Bharathapuzha. This resort offers Yoga therapy and private facilities for Ayurveda. The world famous Kerala Kalamandalam Academy is situated very close to this property.

Philpkutty’s Farm,Kumarakom:This home stay is located on the backwater shore of Kumarakom.. The property manages a 50 acre farm where there is an interesting mix of inter crop cultivations.

ASHLEY BUNGALOWBuilt in 1868 by the Baker family. It is the oldest surviving planters’ bungalow in Peermedu. The original ambience and decor have been carefully preserved to reflect the life style of the early British planters . It is just an hour drive away from the famous Periyar Wild Life Reserve .
